Match Mania
Click two adjacent gems to swap. Match 3+ in a row to score. Cascade combos for huge bonuses.
How to play Match Mania
Match Mania is a match-3 puzzle built around combo cascades. Swap two adjacent gems to align three or more of the same color in a row or column. Matched gems disappear, gems above fall to fill the gap, and any new alignments created by the fall trigger another match — a cascade. Long cascades are the entire point of the game; the satisfying part isn't the first match, it's the chain of unplanned matches that fires off after it.
Special pieces appear when you match four or five at once. A four-in-a-row creates a line clear, a five-in-a-row creates a color bomb, and an L or T shape creates a board-shaking explosion. Combining two specials produces ridiculous chain reactions. Levels have specific goals: clear a board, score X in N moves, drop a target item to the bottom, or survive a moving boundary.
Tips
- Look down before you swap. The best moves create cascades from the bottom up. Match low, let gravity do the rest.
- Save specials for cascades. Activating a color bomb when the board is full of one color wipes 60% of the board.
- Read level objectives first. "Score 50,000 in 20 moves" is a different game than "Drop the key to row 9." Plan accordingly.
- Don't accept the first move you see. Scan the whole board before committing. The game rewards patience more than speed.
