How to play Hero Idle
Hero Idle is an auto-RPG: your hero fights, loots, and levels up on their own while you watch and tune. You don't control attacks directly. What you do control is which gear to equip from the loot stream, when to spend gold on upgrades, and which boss zone to attempt next. The mechanical heart of the game is the gear-and-stats spreadsheet hiding underneath a cheerful pixel-art combat scene.
Combat happens in a fixed arena. Your hero attacks the on-screen enemy on a tick, the enemy attacks back, and damage numbers fly. When the enemy dies you get gold, XP, and (occasionally) a piece of equipment. Equipment has tiers โ common, rare, epic, legendary โ and each piece can roll different stat modifiers. The game's loop is: kill enemies, get loot, equip upgrades, kill harder enemies. The boss stages gate progression; you can't advance until your DPS clears the wall.
Tips
- Always upgrade attack speed first. Attack speed multiplies damage from every other stat. It's the highest-value early purchase.
- Save legendary rerolls. Once you find a legendary piece, you can reroll its stats โ but rerolls are limited. Wait until you understand which stats actually matter for your build.
- Boss-zone scouting. If you can clear a normal mob in under 3 seconds, try the boss. If it takes more than 8, go back and farm.
- Prestige is real. Once you finish a tier, prestiging gives a permanent multiplier. The endgame is multiple prestiges deep.
Difficulty & play time
Difficulty: easy to start, deep at the high end. Estimated time: 10โ20 minutes per session; the full progression depth is many hours. Suggested age: 9+. There's no graphic violence โ combat is stylized pixel art with damage numbers.
